This site is run by me, Ewan Wills. There are no analytics and no advertising trackers on it. Below is what it does keep, and why. If you have a question or want something deleted, email contact@ewanwills.co.uk.
01 — The one cookie
Affiliate links
Some people who share my work get a link with a code in it, like ewanwills.co.uk/r/tom. If you arrive through one, the site sets a single cookie called ew_ref. It holds the code (tom, in that example) and nothing else, and it expires after 30 days.
If you then join the mailing list, buy something or pre-order, the code is saved next to your email address or on your order. That's how I know who sent you, so I can credit the right person. For orders the code is also stored with the payment in Stripe.
The cookie doesn't identify you and isn't used for ads. If you found the site any other way, it's never set. To remove it, clear this site's cookies in your browser.
02 — Everything else
What else the site keeps
Mailing listYour email address and what you signed up for (which EWatch, for example). It's kept in a database on this site's server, and a copy of each signup comes to my inbox. I use it to email you when that thing is available. Ask and I'll take you off.
Contact and custom-order formsWhatever you type, plus any image you attach, is emailed to me so I can reply. Attached images are also saved on the server.
OrdersStripe handles payment, so I never see your card details. Stripe passes me your name, email and delivery address so I can post the order.
Spam checksThe forms use hCaptcha to check you're a person. hCaptcha works under its own privacy policy.
Fonts and videoThe fonts load from Google Fonts, and the EWatch page embeds a YouTube video in its privacy-enhanced mode, so Google sees your IP address when those load. The site itself holds your IP address in memory for about ten minutes after you send a form, to stop anyone flooding it. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser and never sent anywhere.
